The Canadian Home Builder’s Association Northern B.C. recognized the region’s top companies in the field during an awards ceremony on Saturday.
The winners were decided through a “stringent judging process,” the organization said. Criteria included aesthetic merit, innovation and effectiveness in design and planning, energy efficiency and environmental elements, and the quality and mix of materials used.
Prince George-based Belledune Homes & Construction was named residential renovator of the year and Vanderhoof-based Northern Homecraft was named single-family home builder of the year.
Joe Hart, a founder of Icon Homes in Quesnel, was bestowed with the ‘Golden Hammer Award’ in recognition of his contributions to the industry and to the association.
Hart is the past president of the CHBA Northern BC as well as the provincial level of the association.
Member builders voted RONA Capital Building Supplies as their top supplier of the year.
