| We at the FNMPC are proud to share our Annual Report for 2024. This last year at the FNMPC has been a cause for celebration. As a direct result of continuous FNMPC advocacy and many Indigenous organizations’ efforts, Canada announced a National Indigenous Loan Guarantee Program, with the Province of British Columbia also announcing its commitment to a First Nations Equity Financing Framework in Budget 2024. These are significant accomplishments to celebrate nationwide. The FNMPC held our 7th Annual Conference in the financial center of Canada in Toronto for the first time, drawing 1600+ government, industry, and Indigenous leaders from across the country and internationally to advance Indigenous-centered project development. We announced our National Indigenous Electrification Strategy supporting Indigenous Nations along with governments, utilities, and industry, to accelerate the net zero transition in a way that centers First Nations. We published the Spirit of the Land Toolkit, a first-of-its-kind document which provides essential guidance for the assessment of project impacts on Indigenous cultural rights. None of this would be possible without our First Nations Members. With their direction, we have paved a way to advance reconciliation through First Nation-centered project development. As we close out 2024 we look forward to furthering our goals in 2025. https://fnmpc.ca/about/annual-reports/ |
