Enterprise Group signs MOU with Treaty 8 First Nation

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Enterprise Group, an energy services consolidator, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on April 1st outlining a business relationship with a prominent Treaty 8 First Nation, according to a news release from the company.

Energeticcity.ca contacted Enterprise regarding which First Nation they signed the agreement with but did not receive a response by publication time.

The MOU is an agreement to expand and further develop the business relationship between the parties, which includes Enterprise’s subsidiary Evolution Power Projects, located in Fort St. John, and an economic development group of the Treaty 8 First Nation.

All sides see this landmark accord as an opportunity to create economic benefits that balance the companies’ desire for advancement and success with the First Nation’s traditional practices, culture, and commitment to environmental stewardship.

Heather Johnson, president of Evolution Power Projects, expressed how combining the company’s expertise and the First Nation’s local insights could benefit both parties.

“This partnership marks an important step towards fostering collaboration and economic development within the Treaty 8 Territory,” said Johnson.

Evolution Power Projects is a leader in low-emission power solutions and associated site infrastructure, according to the release.

Meanwhile, its parent company, Enterprise Group, operates in the natural gas-rich areas atop the Montney Formation in northeastern B.C. and northwestern Alberta, where economic opportunities are favourable.

Johnson added that she’s proud the economic development company of the unnamed First Nation has selected her company.

She added that Evolution is a leading company in low-emission electrification systems and will provide solutions that will assist in achieving Environmental, Social, and Governance energy targets throughout the territory.
