VANCOUVER — Blue Lagoon Resources Inc. has announced the official opening of its Dome Mountain Gold Mine project, which was one of only nine mining permits granted in British Columbia in the past decade.
The property is an all-year road accessible project located 50 minutes from Smithers. The titles cover an area of approximately 22,000 hectares.
The new facility has the capacity to treat over six times the current needs at Dome Mountain, explains a release.
With the mine officially open, pre-production work can begin, setting up Dome Mountain to begin mining and transition to near-term cash flow once the Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) system is commissioned. This is expected in about four weeks.
The two-stage water treatment facility features a functioning High-Density Sludge circuit and the MBBR circuit, which uses microbes to remove blasting-related ammonia and nitrates, the release explains.
The estimated recovery for the mine is 15,000 ounces of gold per year.
