PRINCE GEORGE — The annual COFI convention starts today at the Conference and Civic Centre.

The BC Council of Forest Industries holds the convention and it is the largest gathering of the forestry sector in Western Canada. Industry, Indigenous, government, community and labour leaders will gather to hear from speakers and discuss key issues and opportunities facing BC’s forest industry.

The only item on the agenda today is an ice breaker reception being held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., but tomorrow Regional Chief Terry Teegee of the BC Assembly of First Nations will be a keynote speaker along with Minister of Forests Bruce Ralston.

Premier David Eby will be speaking Friday morning.
