EDI Environmental Dynamics Inc. (EDI) has been preparing for a seamless transition in leadership over the past decade. Bob Redden, EDI’s current President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) since 2001, will step aside from this role effective March 31, 2024.
EDI’s Board of Directors has selected Cathy Mackay as the new CEO, effective April 1, 2024. Cathy has been part of the EDI team since 2006, a senior partner since 2010, and has been the Chief Operating Officer (COO) since 2017, demonstrating her exceptional leadership and dedication to the company. This marks a pivotal moment in EDI’s organizational journey, and we look forward to Cathy taking on the CEO role as we continue our efforts to be Canada’s most respected environmental consulting firm.
Bob will remain the chair of the EDI board and a senior partner. His future role will focus on governance, strategic business growth, client support, senior project advice, mentorship, and biology.
“After almost three decades with EDI, I am excited to be transitioning to a new role in accordance with our succession plan,” said Redden. “Since EDI was founded in 1994, we have always focused on quality, practical approaches, people, and teamwork. I was the first employee hired by my close friend and EDI’s founder Dwight Hickey, R.P.Bio. and since then, I have had the privilege to advance many business opportunities and to be a part of the careers of so many talented individuals. I am proud of what we have built at EDI and I look forward to the future with Cathy Mackay leading our team. I am so grateful to be a part of such an amazing team.”
Given these exciting changes, EDI will be seeking a new Chief Operating Officer and has advertised a job posting both internally and externally (https://edynamics.com/careers/chief-operating-officer/).
